Tamoxifen was approved by the Food and Drug Administration for use in breast cancer treatment
In December 1977, Tamoxifen (Nolvadex, Soltamox) was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in breast cancer treatment. This antiestrogen drug was the first in a new class of drugs called selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs).
