In 1930, the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR) at Washington University School of Medicine (WUSM) was established, funded by the Rockefeller Foundation and the family of Edward Mallinckrodt, Sr.
Today, MIR provides a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic patient care services at Barnes-Jewish and St. Louis Children’s hospitals, Barnes-Jewish West County, Missouri Baptist Medical Center, Barnes-Jewish St. Peters and Progress West hospitals, and Siteman Cancer Center, among others.
