The Stowers Institute for Medical Research expanded their complex in South Kansas City
In 2009. the Stowers Institute for Medical Research added a 280,000-square-foot complex in South Kansas City to accommodate additional support functions and storage facilities. The Institute was founded by Jim and Virginia Stowers with a $500 million donation. Over the next decade, the couple endowed the institute with gifts totaling almost $2 billion.
Situated on the former campus of the Menorah Medical Center in Kansas City, the 600,000-square-foot research facility provides state-of-the-art laboratories, equipment and technical support, and collaboration between scientists.
