On May 1, 1880, Albert Davis Lasker an American businessman often considered the founder of modern advertising, who with his wife Mary Lasker founded The Albert Lasker Medical Research Awards (a.k.a. “America’s Nobels”), administered by the Lasker Foundation, born in Freiburg, Germany.
