British naturalists Charles Darwin returned to England from the voyage of the “Beagle”
On Oct. 2, 1836, British naturalist Charles Darwin returned to England from the voyage of the “Beagle.” Darwin, hired to be the ship’s naturalist at the age of 22, set sail on the ship HMS Beagle on December 27, 1831, from Plymouth, England.
In 1859, Darwin published “On the Origin of Species’ which explained the theory of evolution.
